Transport

Find info on hitchhiking at Hitchwiki.

To take a boat to Sarandä, Albania it's best to call Ionian Cruises at +30 26610 25155. Off season their boats leave at 9:00 AM but you have to be at their office at Ethnikis Antistaseos 4 at least 40 minutes before the boat leaves. The boat can be a bit rough when there's wind. Tickets are 19 euro. It's cheaper (and easier) to get to Igoumenitsa, but it's not straightforward to get from Igoumenitsa to Sarandä.

Local buses

Blue buses connect Kerkyra city area and green buses rest of the island. From the airport bus ticket is 1.10€ and other tickets 0.50€.

Accommodation

Find info on hosp ex at Couchwiki.

Couchsurfing/BeWelcome can be hard in Corfu during high season (everybody is full).

Wild Camping

It's said wild camping is not tolerated in Corfu. However, generally you can do it as long as there are no bars or umbrellas for rent at the beach. You don't even need to pitch a tent, its extremely hot in Corfu so nobody can accuse you for "camping". Though in some places there're a lot of tiny annoying mosquitos.

Giali beach

Map

One of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in Corfu. Walk from Giannades through olive tree fields till the end of the road and then follow a steep rocky path down, helped by the ropes installed there. There are some people who come by boat for a few hours, but most of the time its empty.

Issos beach

You could go camping at Paralia Issos (south west) or [(north west), or improvise — as long as you find a free beach you ll have no problem. Y

If you want something fancier, Instead of expensive hotels/hostels you can go camping/bungalow:

You could also ask for rooms around from locals (price for these?). Also AirBNB can be cheaper.

Corfu city/Kerkyra is not likely to have budget accommodation.
