Veliko Tarnovo is one of the former capitals of Bulgaria. It has a wonderful old town surrounded by magical hills. As a nomad I chose to stay here and build a sharing space for other nomads in the city and more in a rural space. It's definately a place to have been visited when you reached Bulgaria!
Busses for 1 leva of for free.
In the summertime enough hidden spaces to put up a tent. In the wintertime there are some active Couchsurf hosts which can host you and there is a project in the make where travelers can be hosted and eat/drink vegan and fruity/herbally drinks on donationbase > http://sharingspacevelikotarnovo.weebly.com/

Veliko Tarnovo is the old capital of Bulgaria and one of the biggest tourist destinations. There is a new center with a pedestrian street and shops, as well as an old town where there are many bars and tourists. You can busk both places without being bothered by police, so long as you do not block a storefront. It is a lively town (for Bulgaria), especially on the weekends.
