Despite the fact that hitchhiking is discouraged by most people it is quite doable in Brazil. Brazil is a big country. Many nomads may have heard of:

  • São Jorge - a village in Goias, Brazil. It's where the main entrance to the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park is located.
  • Alto Paraíso de Goiás, often shortened to Alto Paraiso (Highland Paradise), a city in the Brazilian state of Goias.

Brazil maintains a mutual visa policy. As of 2019, nationals of Australia, Canada, Japan and the US can apply for their Brazilian visitor visa via the new e-visa service. In addition, the cost to get a Brazilian visa has dropped from $160 to just $40 — plus an online service fee of $4.24. That means citizens of the United States dont now have to pay over 100$.Citizens from EU countries can go without a visa. Also citizens of Thailand, South Africa, Namibia, Malaysia and New Zealand can stay up to 90 days without a problem.
