Sarandë is an ugly touristic city in southern Albania. Go to villages around it, like wild beach in Lukovë or hitch your way to the mountains!

Avoid all the touristic places like restaurants with menus in english, as they are made for tourists. and you will pay more. For swimming, better hitchhike to some village nearby, as Ksamil, Borsh, Lukovë etc.

All taxi drivers will ask you if you need a taxi, other people will offer a hotel, bar etc. Don't pay attention and say No. There is always a better price, so insist for everything that you buy. The hotel price can go from 50 euro to 15 if they see you walking away.
