"The Travel House is a project that has been carried out each summer by the Travel Club, starting from 2012. Using the money they gather from donations, they rent a flat somewhere in the world, where they establish a temporary base for getting acquainted with the region. Staying in the house is free for everyone. The goal of the Travel House project is to provide a global meeting point for travelers, and thus be a small step towards building a global travel culture."
In summer 2012, the Travel Club established a temporary base in Istanbul, called the Travel House. It was a rented apartment in the center of Istanbul, in Besiktas, whose doors were open to all travelers, from July 1st to September 1st. Istanbul Travel House is now closed.
The Travel House 2013 was located in the town of Granada, in Andalucia, Spain. It was open from August 1st to October 1st. The house was situated in Albayzin, the oldest part of Granada, just ten minutes on foot from Alhambra. The Granada Travel House is now closed.
After Istanbul and Granada, our Travel House is moving to Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. All travelers could stay there for free, between July 1st and September 1 2014. The Travel House is a place for travstelers to sleep, eat, get to know each other, connect, share stories, experiences and skills. It’s a small step towards building a global culture of independent, exploratory and creative travels, but above all a step towards building a culture of solidarity and understanding of our planet. Travel House in Tbilisi, more visited than ever before, has successfully ended in 2014.
The fourth annual Travel House project was carried out in Athens, the capital of Greece. All travelers could stay there for free between July 1st and September 1st, 2015. The Travel House is a place for travelers to sleep, eat, get to know each other, connect, share stories, experiences and skills. It's a small step towards building a global culture of independent, exploratory and creative travels, but above all a step towards building a culture of solidarity and understanding of our planet. The Athens Travel House 2015 has ended.
After four years of the Travel House, the time has come to change the concept. The Travel House has evolves into the Travel School, now offering a wide range of workshops, however, most of them are travel-related. The first Travel School was in 2016 in Aveiro, on the Atlantic coast in Portugal, an hour from Porto. The Travel School in Aveiro is closed
